Each cheese knife presents Belleek’s signature basketwave embossed pattern, reminiscent of the traditional Irish wickerwork baskets seen both in the countryside and town. On each knife, you can see a uniquely hand-painted shamrock lending a personal touch, synonymous with Irish Christianity. For centuries, the shamrock has been regarded as an Irish Christian symbol of the Holy Trinity, closely bound to a legendary tale. It’s believed that St. Patrick used the shamrock when converting Irish pagans to Christianity.
The blades are crafted of rust-resistant stainless steel, a highly durable material used in tableware. The hand-painted handles are made of fine Parian china, a type of special porcelain that’s sturdy and beautiful. To keep the set in pristine condition, we recommend hand-washing only.
