Solvar Irish Jewellery’s Gold Plated Black Irish Tara Brooch is a remarkable replica of the historic 8th century Tara Brooch now on display at the National Museum of Ireland. One of the most significant finds of the 19th century, the Tara brooch changed historic interpretation of the artistic achievements of the ancient Irish. When you wear it, or give it as a gift, you are carrying on that historic legacy of Irish cultural heritage.

This replica is crafted in Dublin from base metal that has been gold plated and painted with enamel finishes, giving it beautiful and colorful detailing reminiscent of the original’s amber and glass beads. The brooch also features highly detailed Celtic knot patterns symbolic of medieval Ireland’s belief in the interconnectivity of all things in the universe.

Solvar was founded in 1941 in Dublin and has since become Ireland’s leading producer of jewelry inspired by Ireland’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. As a third-generation family operated business, Solvar prides itself on individually designing each and every piece of jewelry it produces. Their master craftsmen ensure that every piece meets the highest standards of quality and design so that it can be hallmarked for authenticity by the Dublin Assay Office at Dublin Castle.

Measures 51mm x 36mm (approx. 2 in. x 1.4 in.). Gold-plated base metal with enamel finishes. Pin-and-clasp closure on reverse. Solvar Tara Brooch gift box included.
